many answers abound if one simply chooses to search

I've now worked from numerous repair manuals and they all seem to have their strengths and weaknesses. While I have yet to do any major repairs with this one, just looking it over it seems that it is quite detailed and has in depth descriptions and photos of how to do a repair. I suppose that depending on your mechanical experience this could either be considered a strength or weakness. My opinion is that anyone who owns/operates a motorized vehicle should own a book like this. Even if they do not plan to do the work themselves, these books contain an incredible amount of information for little money, thus making for an informed consumer which can really defang any would-be scam artists that try to talk people into paying for unnecessary or poor labor.

Im not one to do a review on a book but thought the honda repair manual really deserves one. Fantastic read and step by step instructions and pictures to assist in basic through to more advanced care and repair. For anyone who really loves to take care of their Honda outboards this book is for you.

The Barkley Deficits in Executive Functioning Scale--Children and Adolescents (BDEFS-CA) is an empirically based tool for evaluating clinically significant dimensions of child and adolescent executive functioning. Evidence indicates that the BDEFS-CA is far more predictive of impairments in daily life activities than more time-consuming and costly traditional EF tests. The BDEFS-CA offers an ecologically valid snapshot of the capacities involved in time management, organization and problem solving, self-restraint, self-motivation, and self-regulation of emotions. Two parent-report forms are included: a long form (10-15 minutes) and a short form (3-5 minutes). There is also a short clinical interview form based on the short-form rating scale, for use in unusual circumstances where a parent is unable to complete a rating scale. Special features include an ADHD risk index in the long form. Complete instructions for scoring and interpreting the scale are provided.

Technical InformationThe BDEFS-CA is the culmination of more than 17 years of research and development aimed at identifying the most useful items for the assessment of deficits in executive functioning (EF) in daily life activities. Initially, development of the BDEFS began with forms for use with adults. This manual presents a downward extension of the adult BDEFS, created and normed for use with parents in evaluating their children, ages 6-17 years. The large normative sample (N=1,922) is representative of the U.S. population in terms of region, socioeconomic status, education, ethnicity/race, and gender, based on the 2000 U.S. Census. Unlike other EF rating scales, the normative sample was not drawn from a single state or region, was not filtered to exclude children receiving special education or psychiatric medications, and did not rely on school staff to initially obtain the sample. It is therefore a true general population sample. ReliabilityReliability of the scores is quite satisfactory as evidenced by high internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha ranging from .95 to .97 scores across the five scales) and by high test-retest reliability over a 3-5 week interval (ranging from .73 to .82 across scales and .82 for the Total EF Summary Score). Validity Validity of the scale scores was evident in numerous analyses, including factor analyses; correlations with other EF rating scales; significant group differences and distinct profile patterns across multiple developmental, learning, psychiatric, and neurological disorders; and correlations, regression analyses, and group comparisons concerning disorder discrimination and concurrent validity with various measures of functional impairment in major life activities (family functioning, peer relations, educational functioning, community activities, and risk for accidental injuries, among other domains.) More extensive technical information is provided in the manual.

About the Author
Russell A. Barkley, PhD, ABPP, ABCN, is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Barkley has published numerous books and more than 260 scientific articles and book chapters on ADHD, executive functioning, and childhood defiance. He is also the editor of the newsletter The ADHD Report. Dr. Barkley is well known for his pioneering research on ADHD in both children and adults. His rating scales are based on more than 16 years of research using prototypes of the scales, and are normed on large samples representative of the U.S. population. An Essential Tool for Working With Kids and Teens With ADHD

As a therapist and coach working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and ADHD, I've used Barkley's BDEFS since it was first published. Now, there's a similar scale for use with kids and teens. This scale can help professionals determine if there are deficits in executive function, as well as relative strengths. Executive function is broken down into time management, organization, self restraint, motivation, and emotional restraint, as well as total scores that can help indicate the presence of ADHD. The BDEFS-CA is an essential tool for treatment planning and your clients' self understanding.

Because the book allows professionals to copy the tests for use in their own practice, it's especially useful for those of us in private practice.

About the Author

Dr Colette Gray is a Chartered Developmental Psychologist at Stranmillis University College, a College of The Queen’s University of Belfast. She is a Principal Lecturer in Early Childhood Studies, was until very recently the Head of Research Development and a Visiting Professor (Child Development & Education) to the University of St Marks & St John’s Plymouth. She has studied and taught a range of undergraduate and post graduate degree modules to students for more than 20 years. Editor of the International Journal of Early Years Education, she continues to develop her research interests in the field of participatory research which children and marginalised groups, the impact of special needs on children’s learning, and the ethical implications of research involving vulnerable groups. Married for 40 years, she is the proud grandmother of three pre-schoolers Jacob (3 yrs 6mths), Isabelle (20 months) and Isaac (15 mths).�

"Sean MacBlain is Reader in Child Development and Disability at the University of St Mark and St John. Before taking up his current position Sean worked as a Senior Lecturer in Education and Developmental Psychology at Stranmillis University College, a College of Queens University Belfast. Fantastic read!!

What an interesting and thought provoking read. I was completely fascinated and full immersed in this fantastic book from the moment I started reading. I never knew how complex the subject of color could be. There are so many facets to the topic and the author does an amazing job of really explaining them all. Zena O'Connor is obviously an intellectual and quite an expert on the subject. Even though the subject matter is quite complex, she writes in a way that not only makes the material interesting to read, but is also easy to understand. You won't find a better book or analysis anywhere. If you are looking for a deep dive into the history and world of color... and you like thought provoking books. Then I highly recommend that you check this one out. 5 big stars!

The meaning of colors

My spare time is sometimes dedicated to painting, as I enjoy the activity and it relaxes me like nothing else. This is what triggered my curiosity to read this book, and what I found within it goes way beyond colors and their meaning when it comes to photography and paintings. A very comprehensive and well researched study of colors and the message that they convey, a book that can be useful in business related activities such as branding or advertising, but as well for people passionate about photography, painting or even fashion. A true color and symbolism guide.
