About the Author
Lisa is a mother and a grandmother, and former licensed therapeutic foster parent, who spent years reading to the children in her life. Over these decades, She has not seen a children's book that deals with the issue of the way society sees and treats people with Down Syndrome. As a mother of a 21-year old daughter with Down Syndrome, she feels compelled to tell her story. Lisa, her husband of 33 years and her daughter live in a quiet neighborhood in Florida. They enjoy spending time together with friends and family. Often times this quiet life is interrupted by the harsh reality of how people react to the way their daughter looks rather than the way she is.

It's about time we start having books for children to help them understand the differences in people. It's important for them to understand God made us all the same on the inside of our hearts and we should treat each other with love and respect no matter what no matter how we look on the outside. Wonderful book for all ages.Highly recommend it!!!!

This book is so sweet and simple.... Perfect for the intended audience. And the illustrations nicely compliment the message. A wonderful little book with big impact! A gift to whoever reads it, or has it read to them, and takes it to heart.

What a wonderful book written for children but actually a good lesson for all of us. Get this book and read it with your children and grandchildren to help them realize that a person with Down's Syndrome is just like them in many ways!!
