I’m the spawn of a drug dealer and an addict. I have never let myself love another person and now… I love her so much it hurts.”

Reese Owens is the exact opposite of Garrison. Inside she’s beaming; growing up in a happy home and on the outside she was a duck out of water. Her parents are the over protective set but are finally loosening the jail bars. Sophomore year in high school, she has never dated a boy and is envious of the social life her best friend Autumn Welch has. She meets Garrison and is instantly attracted to him. He pulls away when she pushes in. A whole new world opens up to Reese and she finds herself falling into situations she can’t get herself out of. Making bad decision after bad decision, she finds out the hard way on how life is full of choices. The one thing she wants more than anything is Garrison’s attention which she doesn’t get in return.

Garrison realizes he has to be honest with Reese and tell her how he really feels before he loses her for good. Just maybe, he will get love in return for the first time in his life. When he finally convinces himself to come forth, a life changing event occurs that could take away the only person in his life that truly loves him.

Is it too late? Does he get the chance to tell her? And when he confesses does it matter?

Huh!

I'm at a loss for words! I feel betrayed by my fellow reviewers who rated this a high rating. Prior to selecting a book to add to my library, I look to the opinions of other readers like myself to give an honest review. Well for all of you who gave this anything above one star.. Shame on you!! You are a bunch of liars! This was not good. It was amateur at best. The storyline was rushed and there wasn't enough background story. I won't get into the rushed love of children because we all have fell in love after glimpsing at someone. One issue is that there was no growth in these characters.

Now I'm only going to point out a few things because there was so many and I don't want to be here all night when I can be searching for another story to cleanse my mind after this. First off, I find it so hard to believe that Reese liked dancing at all. Sure she's been dreaming about that (along with being a meteorologist?) forever but once she achieves her goal there's no further mention of dancing. It's all "Garrison is perfect, but Cannon is my douche bag childhood crush" and I'm left here confused as I thought dance was life. As is being a meteorologist??

Another would be that I would've preferred that if one was intent on having so many complex characters, one should probably explain why they are complex. Why did Cannon turn into a douche? Why won't someone teach autumn about self love? Why did Foxy randomly appear toward the end of the book? Why were Reese's parents so quick to turn on Autumn when they basically raised her? And finally why didn't Garrison just go live with his aunt?

Believe it or not, this wasn't the worst story I've read so there's that. Buy it or don't buy it. It's up to you, but unlike everyone else, I'm going to give an honest review. I only gave it 1 star because it's required, please don't read into it. The best thing about this is that the story actually continues to another book. I know, shocking! I don't know if it exceeds just the sequel as I'll never read from this author again. There ya go! Happy Reading!!

This is a deeply moving YA book, about two high school students. One Garrison Davis who is a senior and should be having the best year of his life and Reese Owens a young girl who is discovering what high school is about, along the way these two people will meet and it will set them on a course that changes both of their lives.

Garrison is an amazing character, you are drawn to him from the very beginning. His home life has not been easy. Garrison's father is in prison and his mother is a drug addict. He has so much to deal with in his daily life. Garrison wants a better life for himself and is determined to leave his painful past behind.

Reese, I loved her she is every young girl in high school, always thinking that she doesn't look good enough or thinking of herself as a just an ordinary girl. Reese comes from a loving family, very different from Garrison. She always has her friend Autumn by her side who is completely opposite of Reese. Over the years Reese has had a crush on a boy she grew up with, Cannon, I'm not going to tell you about him you have to read the book...

Something happens that brings these two together, Garrison really is a knight in shining armor, but he doesn't think he's good enough for Reese, she thinks he's perfect, loyal and caring.

“I will say it one more time and I hope you really hear me. To love someone, truly love them, inside and out is a once in lifetime opportunity. If you pass it up you will regret it.” No Ordinary Me

There are so many things that I loved about this book it really captures the feelings of being a young teenager in high school, today. I loved how the author added in two teachers who were mentors to Garrison. This book is a heartfelt story with a good message on how you can over come any obstacle in your life and how two people can grow together and teach each other what love and family really means. It's a book that a teenager and adult would love.

Waste of Reading Time.

I thought from the synopsis it was a good story but it was delivered wrong. There were too many errors in the writing. The script was weak and watered down. The characters were shallow and emotionless. The love story was corny. I found myself flipping through the pages just to get to the end. 2 stars only because it touched on a tough subject about children being born into rough situations but making something better of themselves. That was the ONLY good thing about this novel.

An addition to my 3D printer library

The author admits this isn't a book for the beginner. It would help greatly to have some experience with 3D printing and understanding of the vocabulary of 3D printing before getting this. However, I think it is a great addition to one's 3D printing library as the illustrations and descriptions make it easy to comprehend. I especially like the use of 3D printing and the process described in designing and printing a part for a chainsaw that was not available otherwise.

The perfect companion to Smyth's earlier book

This book is the perfect companion to Smyth's "Functional Design for 3D Printing". It covers expert topics such as optimizing your print for speed, plastic used, or strength, how to debug your printer problems, and how to design a duplicate for a broken plastic part. The "Appendices" are actually full-blown chapters, with more examples of how to meet your design constraints. It's a solid handbook to mark up and keep by your printer.

The Zombie Apocalypse theme gets in the way at times, causing confusion about whether he's giving a serious tip (using glue sticks for example) vs. elaborating on the theme (scavanging glue sticks from stores).

About the Author

Jeffrey Friedl was raised in the countryside of Rootstown, Ohio, and had aspirations of being an astronomer until one day he noticed a TRS-80 Model I sitting unused in the corner of the chem lab (bristling with a full 16K of RAM, no less). He eventually began using Unix (and regular expressions) in 1980, and earned degrees in Computer Science from Kent (BS) and the University of New Hampshire (MS). He did kernel development for Omron Corporation in Kyoto, Japan for eight years before moving in 1997 to Silicon Valley to apply his regular-expression know-how to financial news and data for a little-known company called "Yahoo!"

When faced with the daunting task of filling his copious free time, Jeffrey enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee and basketball with friends at Yahoo!, programming his house, and feeding the squirrels and jays in his back yard. He also enjoys spending time with his wife Fumie, and preparing for the Fall 2002 release of their first "software project" together.

This is the standard textbook on Regular Expressions and for good reason. The third edition however covers the different shades of RegEx from many programming perspectives including {Egrep, Perl, PHP, Java, .NET}

A mix of humor coupled with real examples will get you to master status with RegEx in no time. I have read this book like 5 times and still use it a lot.

This book does for RegEx what Cormen's book does for Algorithms.

About the Author
Larry Snyder was the chairman of the National Research Council's (NRC) committee that issued the report, "Being Fluent with Information Technology." It is this NRC committee funded by the National Science Foundation that identified the three types of knowledge needed in Fluency. Larry received his BA in 1968 from the University of Iowa and his Ph.D. in 1973 at Carnegie Mellon. He taught at schools such as Yale, MIT, Harvard, and Syndey University before settling down at the University of Washington in 1983, where he is currently a professor of computer science and engineering.

Terrible for learning

This book is terrible. I am taking a class and needed this book. Lucky, for me, I know most of what is in it already. Because I know most of what I have gone over so far, I have to say, if you do not understand how to figure stuff out on your own on-line or know word or excel already, this book will not help. This book will explain how to do something, missing a bunch of critical steps, then tell you to try it. You must then google how to do it. The example that just blew me over the top to even take the time and write this review, is chapters 13 & 14 for excel. It will give you a concept, then tell you to select an option and try the following exercise. In excel, you must know what tab you are supposed to be working under to find the correct option. The page even shows you a picture of what the sheet looks like, but not a picture of the tab selections!! I just can't anymore. I absolutely cannot stand working with this book. I know excel well, and there are a few new things I am learning, but I find more information, on what the book is trying to convey, searching Google to be more helpful! Do not get this book unless it is required for a class. There is reading in it where the instructors do want specific answers from the book. But if you are looking to do this on your own, this is not the book.
